Philosophy
The philosophy of the Abdulsalami Abubakar University of Agriculture and Climate Action is to, in view of the new orientation and paradigm shift in contemporary practice in Agricultural technology in the country, develop and offer world class professional programme solutions that are research driven with impactful outcomes built on a sustainable connection between training (pre-service and in-service) and professional practice. The university shall be guided by the principles of excellence in its research and community service activities; for the effective and efficient realisation of the vision and mission of the Abdulsalami Abubakar University of Agriculture and Climate Action, its philosophy shall include:
- To serve as a centre for excellence for the production of contemporary world class professionals in line with the changing needs of the school system; ii. To set and operate professional standards and benchmarks that will attract the best students, lecturers, researchers and scholars in all fields from around the world.
- To create and sustain the connection between the university and the field (Schools) through a mentoring programme and a new approach to scholarship that will build pre-service commitment to professionalism;
- To create a multi-level entry tracks and diverse programme solutions to meet the needs of career professionals in all fields of agriculture and relevant desciplines and in line with changing times.
- To deploy a research-based programme delivery driven by Information and Communication Technology which connects to classroom-based transactional instructional and learning outcomes.
- To develop and disseminate teaching and learning materials to schools with provision for a mentoring and feedback mechanism that will be used to determine impact of usage and how to improve on professionally prepared teaching and learning materials.
- To develop and deploy a partnership, collaborative and exchange framework/platform that would endure as the university stays connected to key players in contemporary education in the world.

Objectives
Here are the objectives of Abdulsalmi Abubakar University of Agriculture and Climate Action.
- To establish such campus, colleges, faculties, institutes, centers, academic departments, schools, extra-mural department and other teaching and research units within the University from time to time as may be deemed necessary subject to the overall approval of the National Universities Commission
- To institute academic, administrative, professional, sports, technical and other posts and offices, and to make appointments thereto
- To institute and award fellowships, scholarships, bursaries, medals, prizes and other titles, distinction, awards and forms of assistance;
- To grant honorary degrees, certificates, fellowships or academic titles
- To approve courses of study, hold examinations, award degrees and certify such other certificates and distinctions to persons who have pursued approved programmes and satisfied such requirements as the University may lay down
- To provide for the discipline, conditions of service and general welfare of staff of the University
- To demand and receive from any student or any other person attending the University for the purpose of instructions, such fees as the University may from time to time determine subject to the overall directives of the appropriate authority.
- To acquire, hold, grant, charge or otherwise deal with or dispose of movable and immovable property wherever it is situated.
- To accept gifts, legacies and donations but without obligation to accept the same for a particular purpose unless it approves the terms and conditions attached thereto.
- To enter into contracts, establish trusts, act as trustee, solely or jointly with any other person, and employ and act through agents.
- To erect, provide, equip and maintain libraries, laboratories, lecture halls, halls of residence, refectories, sport grounds, playing fields and other buildings or facilities necessary or suitable for any of the objects of the University.
- To hold public lectures and to undertake printing, publishing, book selling and consultancy services.
- To invest any money appertaining to the University which its law endorse, whether for general or special purposes, and such other money as may not be immediately required for current expenditure, subject to any limitations or conditions imposed by the statute, in any investment or securities or in the purchase or improvement of land, with power from time to time to vary any such investments, and to deposit any money for the time being un-invested with any bank on deposit or current account.
- To borrow, whether on interest or not such money as the University may from time to time in its discretion find necessary or expedient to borrow or to guarantee, any loan, advances or credit facilities on terms and conditions the University may find reasonable.
- To make gifts and donations for any charitable purpose;
- To do anything which is authorized or required by this Law or by statute to do.
- To do all such acts, incidental to the foregoing powers, as may advance the objects of the University.
In order to ensure the university's sustainable growth and development, a strategic partnerships with national international entities through linkages and Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
